A lot of care has been put into restoring this building and the tour guides are professional and well informed.
but not for children-they would be bored. Very enjoyable and the guard was informative and took his time and answered all questions. The tourist attraction is the old Governors Mansion on 16th and H Streets but the Leland Stanford Mansion is much larger more interesting, attractive and larger. Before budget cuts, the mansion was decorated every holiday season. Check open times with the California State ark Service before going.

I went on the 4:00 p.m. tour. As it was the last tour of the day and a small group, the tour guide gave us a slightly longer tour.
