I decided to visit Salvestrin really because it was within walking distance of where I was staying at the El Bonita motel and I wanted to pick up a bottle of sauvignon blanc for the room. It's by appointment only so called them up and told them I my situation, which was one person looking to come by late on... More

If you like small and family involved wineries look no further. The wines are good across the board and reasonably priced. I like their Sauvignon Blanc, Retaggio (Sangiovese blend) and their Cabernet Sauvignon. Rich Salvestrin is a very good wine-maker and will talk to you about the wine if asked. Can not recommend highly enough. Check them out.

I am a wine novice and we had the pleasure of visiting Salvestrin several years ago. It was the undisputed highlight of our trip. We sat outside on a perfect August day, ate lunch and sampled wine. The family invited us into the vineyard, educated us on the history and then brought out a platter of freshly picked grapes. The... More

This winery depicts the real essence of the Napa Valley and it's historic past. It is a sincere and true gem in the small, intimate winery world. Their wines are excellent and the atmosphere is true to the "old" Valley.

We visited here on June 29. The wine is good and the grounds are pretty. I don't remember anything really special about the wine or winery. Our guide brought us here. We sat outside at a picnic table and tasted several wines. We enjoyed it and purchased a couple of bottles.

We have loved Salvestrin for years. Our most recent visit was incredible, led by one of the family - lots of history and such a pleasant experience, I've started sending my good friends here. The only downside - they ran out of my favorite Retaggio! More is coming, so don't worry! This isn't your stand 5 people deep at the... More

This was my first visit to Salvestrin Winery in all the years we have lived in the area. I love reds ... especially Cabernet Sauvignon ... and have always pretty much set a limit of $60-$65 per bottle on what I will spend for a wine, regardless of how much I like it ... but I was so absolutely blown... Wines were delicious (had the sav blanc, cabernet, and super tuscan) and the tasting room had lots of old pictures of the family (young and old!) which I loved! .....took a bottle home and that was great too!

This one could have been skipped. . $15 pp for 3 very small pours and a quick 20-30 min walk through the vineyards. We sat outside in the rain and it just wasn't anything too special. The wines were just okay, nothing too exciting for us. There was only 1 person working the winery and he had to tend to... More

We have been to Salvestrin winery about 4 times, and stayed in their Inn twice (once with our 2 children). Hands down this is my favorite winery in all of Napa (And I have been to Napa many times). It is a family owned, Estate grown winery with exceptional wines. Their Sauv Blanc and Cab have to be my favorites.... More
