When it costs to park on the city street and you have to move your car every couple of hours, why go downtown? I'll go to Butcher Park in my neighborhood.

4 little words: Christmas in the Park, every year, keep us coming back! Very family friendly! A couple of Summers ago, we enjoyed "Music in the Park" during the Summer months. Sadly, too many people smoking their dope out in the open RUINED IT for us family folk!
Being centrally located is not a plus for Plaza de Cesar Chavez Park. If you can't park at a meter the garage's can be expensive. If there is no concert or other event the only attraction for the park is the water feature in the summer months
The summer Music in the Park is sensational. Free concerts, nice crowd, and plenty of dancing. I go every year just to see friends from previous years. Did I say free?
This historic plaza, once the place where the City Hall stood, draws festivals, speakers, and is the home of Christmas in the Park. Races begins and end here and until recently a place where children could play in it's multiple fountains ( hopefully to again be with water).
Nice araea in the middle of downtwon accross from Tech museum and Fairmont Hotel. Nice place to eat your lunch downtown. Big trees, nice grass areas. GREAT FOUNTAIN for young and old to play in (especially on a warm day). Jazz festivals, Christmas in the Park, and more happen here.
Have been to many of the Music in the park & S.J. Jazz festivals held in/around this park over the year's & is well kept & has many other place's within walking distance to see & eat.
Grab a blanket and just watch the people, head to the Grill on the Alley at the Fairmont when you get thirsty for the best happy hour in town.
Small and sweet is what this park is. Smacked in the middle of Downtown, San Jose, so it is a great place to chill and meet up with friends before heading out to your final destination.
On the north end of the park is where the stage is and where Music in the Park is set up during the summer....

There were two bands who played and both bands were excellent. We were surprised that the place wasn't packed. The people there were very low-key and pleasant to...
