This beach is wonderful to visit, and I've walked it both directions for quite a ways to get a solid feel for it over the past few months. This is a dog-friendly beach with "on leash" one direction and "off leash" in the other. I have not met an unfriendly or unruly dog there yet. While we don't have a... More

When I need a walk on the beach, whether I'm looking for sea glass or need to clear my head, I drive down to Hendry's Beach which is also known as Arroyo Burro Beach. A great place to take the kids for fun and play or your dog for a walk. Just before sunset you can have a drink at... More

Definitely hike up to the peak, you will be rewarded with an amazing view of the coast. Wear a hat and sunglasses, there is exposure.

Tons of dogs, really beautiful beach. Lots of surfers and bikini babes. Our dog had a great time, and our two year old daughter did too. What a perfect location for a fun family day for both furry and none family members. We will definitely recommend to anyone who is traveling with their pet.

Wow this was an amazing place to bring my 3 dogs and stroll along the beach with my family. Beautiful scenery and lots of happy dogs charging in and out of the ocean.

This beach is beautiful with or without a dog, but it seems to be the only official off-leash beach in the area. Just follow the sign to go to the left part of the beach.

Loved it was free and parking is easy. Nice beach front for splashing in the ocean or taking a long walk along the coast.

My wife grew up in Santa Barbara and she always talked about (Hendry's Beach). We took our grown sons there last week for the first time so they could experience what Mom always talked about. First, the weather was perfect, clear sky's, warm but a nice gently breeze off the ocean. The sand was easy to walk on and the... More

I used to take my golden retriever to Hendry's (aka Arroyo Burro), but stopped because he kept being attacked by aggressive, unrestrained dogs. The typical answer I would get from the knucklehead owners was "this is what dogs do" - evidently the excuse for not bothering to train/restrain their dogs. So, found that the beach at Padaro Lane was a... More
