Very welcoming glider port, it felt like a very well run gliding club back home in NZ. Experienced instructors, great fleet of vintage and modern gliders. I had a great soar up in the mountains and flew an SGS 2-33 for the first time.

Vicki enjoyed a great glider ride with an experienced airline pilot. View and quiteness of a glider was great. Got to handle controls a bit. My pilot was most considerate and accomodating. Great item for your bucket list.

go up in the air and fly like the birds
Glider planes are their specialty, it was fantastic, just you and the pilot, he does let you take command of the Throttle stick, look out when you take control it is awe some

Something I've always wanted to do. The folks at Skylark North were great. We felt very comfortable & safe.
The experience from getting into the glider, being towed up and then soaring slowly & peacefully down was unbelievable, The views were stunning, I couldn't take enough pictures.
Price - excellent, fore go a round of golf and go "soaring"

We stopped and enjoyed an hour of watching planes taking off and soaring in the sky. We were not there when there is an air show but it is still very enjoyable visit.

I go every year to attend an experimental sailplane workshop. The campsites and facilities are good, considering the desert terrain. It's the field where the Lindbergh's learned to fly sailplanes and the astronauts trained on how to land gliders so the could bring the powerless space shuttle back safely.

One of the best Glider Airports in the Western US. Very friendly people, good equipment and a good little café. Great soaring, ridge and wave.

Glider port is off highline road, Tehachapi. Snack bar for breakfast & lunch. RV park with water and electricity, approximately 30 spaces. Tehachapi is 3 miles away, lots to do there. Go for the glider ride, another plave (tow plane) pulls you up to 5000 feet and lets you go. Then you soar in silence in the updrafts. Something you will remember for the rest of your life. Bring the RV and spend the weekend. Tehachapi is like going back 40 years in time. Fun for kids too. Frank S. has done it and had a great time. Was on my bucket list. By the way, RV park spaces are about $30. a day. Call them.

My wife gave a glider flight gift certificate to me and my 13 year old son. We used on Saturday morning, August 10. The weather was perfect, and the ride very smooth. The flight went way up over some of the mountains and we circled down taking in the view. The pilot was very nice and let me know what to expect. The best part of the flight was pulling the release tow cord.

My son also had a great time and we got lots of pictures. He now wants to take flying lessons!

I highly recommend a flight to visitors and even those who live in the area. I've been in Kern County for many years, but a glider flight gives a great view and lets you get a new perspective of Tehachapi and the surrounding area.
