Entering this small museum is like entering someone's home. Displays are at eye level and coordinated in a such a way that items compliment each other well. Art pieces are perfectly lighted and exciting. The whole place is full of energy and humor. You can go it alone or have an expert volunteer guide you to the important pieces. Mid... More

A sweet little museum of decorative arts in a sketchy neighborhood. Includes a nice collection of arts and crafts pottery and mid century furniture. Not curated in a coherent pattern and lacks much background information on what's displayed. But if you like decorative arts it's worth a trip.

We live just up the street from this museum and take all of our out of town guests here. We are members and also go often. An incredible collection of decorative arts in a one-of-a-kind setting. Vance Kirkland was a visionary artist and it is interesting to learn about the evolution of his style over the years. His late works,... More

This small museum is "chuck-full" of design objects including mid century design chairs, furniture, pottery, dinnerware from the early and middle 20th century. We really enjoyed the fine collection of dinnerware, furniture, paintings, glassware all collected and beautifully displayed in the quiet spaces of Kirkland's home and studio.

Being a retired art educator and having only 1 day in Denver, I chose the Kirkland. So very glad I did! My husband and I spent about 90 minutes among some of the finest examples of Art Nouveau decoratives anywhere. Art Deco is also represented, as well as Vance Kirkland's career art output, and Colorado ceramics. It was fun to... More

This is a gem of a museum if you like decorative arts. Mostly 1900's home and tabletop items. There is so much to see as they have filled display cases top to bottom with items. Be sure to go downstairs as well. The Vance Kirkland art is interesting to see - early to mid century trend setting artitst

A friend told us about this museum. It is jammed pack with really interesting art by Kirkland and others. It offers a diverse inventory of oils, watercolors, furniture, ceramics, textiles, etc. The staff are very helpful and and very knowledgeable of all the art in this museum.

This hidden gem exists because of the quirky art, studio and collection of Vance Kirkland but is the heart and soul of a passionate group of supporters and the child and life's work of Huge Grant and his wife Merle Chambers. Inside is a Barnes collection styled display of amazing decorative art with an extensive collection of Kirkland other paintings... More

What a splendid treat it was to tour the Kirkland! The experience was greatly enhanced by the guidance of Christine, the volunteer docent. We were able to get the inside story on so much of the collection. Every art nouveau and art deco display brought a smile to my face. So many artists and manufacturers were represented. As for the...
