What a beautiful lake. It is so clean and pristine. The waterfalls just bring a special touch to the lake. Let's keep it clean. Follow the rules and let many generations to come to still be able to see this beautiful place.

Beautiful hike all of the way up. Too bad you can't take a dip at the top. Our family has three children under the age of eight and we did not find it so challenging.

A highly recommendable activity for the entirefamily. The hike can be difficult. There are some very steep sections of the trail; highly recommend good sneakers or trail shoes. Hanging Lake is very pretty once at the top. Great place for a Family Holiday Photo!

Challenging but beautiful and worth the effort. Be prepared for slick ice in the Spring. We forgot hiking gear, focusing on Hot Springs activities, so one mile into the hike (3 miles up), we considered the difficulty of making it back down. Disappointing to have to turn around, but it was great excercise and fun.

Though a little more strenuous than I remember when I was in my 20s it was still a gorgeous place to visit.

A steep hike up to Hanging Lake will reward you with one of the most amazing sights in Colorado. I would recommend that you get an early start, take your time and enjoy the beauty of the hike. It is a good idea to wear sturdy shoes and carry hiking poles if you have them. Be sure to take water... More

Breathtakingly beautiful! The trail is not very long, but it is steep. However, most of it runs along a lovely stream, and through primarily wooded terrain, so it remains cool even on a hot day. The trail does tend to get crowded, so you may want to set out early in the morning. The emerald colored lake makes the hike... More

We went up the trail not quite knowing what to expect, but were pleasantly surprised to find such a quiet and beautiful little lake nestled between the rocks. Even an Amish family had brought all their children up to admire this little heaven.

I will go back. Just so very beautiful. To many people at times but a must see. Not recommended for people out of shape.

the trail can be tricky when wet, other than that, enjoy the beautiful scenery and the end destination, the lake!
