The lady whose collection forms the basis of this exhibit did a great job. There are many quilts from the late 1800s in excellent condition on display, and the variety and quality are quite good. Interspersed with these are new creations by master quilters (Paducah award-winners). Not much interpretation here, but honestly, if you're stopping at the quilt museum, you... More

Although not a quilter myself, I love the art. Art in fabric is definately what you will encounter. Exhibits change regularly and there are ongoing special shows and visitors. Another great stop in Golden, especially with your girlfriend!

Very interesting display. We learned a great deal about the history of crazy quilts. The sewing was outstanding. The lecture we heard about the history, etc. was very informative.

Unbelievable crazy quilts from the Private Collection of Patty and Allen Brown. Patty, a master quilter and student of Cindy Thomas.Patty gave an incredable talk that brought the lives of the women who made the quilts to life. The subtle language of symbols, fabric selection and delicate sewing was amazing in these quilts. Each quilt was like reading a story... More

Quilt enthusiasts will love the quality of these quilts and the availability for learning more of the lore through the excellent docents. Don't let the small size of the museum fool you. Gift shop is fabulous. The entire experience fits right into this adorable little town nestled in the Colorado mountains. I had a great time there.

I thought that some of these quilts were pretty awesome. They were very pretty and remind me of some of the family quilts that we have at home. I also bought some things from their little shop area as gifts.

I love quilts and have always wanted to stop in this museum while two of my sons attended Mines, and I finally stopped in, though those sons have long graduated. For a $6 entry fee there were only like a dozen or so quilts on display; WOW, is that all?! For the price, I don't think it was worth it.

I am a quilter & was looking forward to going through this "museum." It is not a museum, just one small room with a less than 20 quilts in it. My quilt guild has had quilt shows with over 100 quilts & we charge as much as they did to get in. I went back out to the desk &... More

My grandmother is a quilt inthusist and was super excited when she got the chance to go here. When she got there she was very disappointed the museum in all had about maybe 20 and non of them were antique in her own words it wasn't worth the $6.00 admission fee and save it for something better that Golden has... The Rockey mountain quilt museum displays a changing panorama of beautiful quilts. A docent will take you around and explain why each quilt is special. My wife and I enjoyed the stories behind each quilt we viewed. This is a highlight for any quilting fans.
