Wilkerson Pass marks one of edges of the vast South Park. You can envision the inland sea that once covered the high plains below. Good interpretive signage and helpful volunteer staff in summer.

This is a fun little place to stop and use the spacious restrooms and hike around the various trails. The gift shop is interesting as well with books, maps and souvenirs. Other than that, there really isn't that much to do here. You'd be hard-pressed to spend more than 30 minutes here.
This pass is an easy drive with great views. If you look west you see the great expanse of South Park. If you look east you can see Pikes Peak. And the heated bathroom is a bonus especially in the winter.
One of the best Mountain Valley Views in Colorado. This is a must stop rest stop at the top of the pass on HWY 24 West...if you're lucky the gift shop may even be open.
We travel over Wilkerson Pass weekly for outings from our home. We NEVER get tired of the view as we ascend and descend from the summit. SPECTACULAR!!! So glad the view is not destroyed by commercialism. Thank goodness the USFS owns the land surrounding this beautiful spot.
Great photo op and views - we live here so are taking people there year around - ranger station has wonderful books and educational materials for all ages.
Bicycling over Wilkerson Pass is an experience to remember. Great views in several directions going either directions. A surmountable challenge.
From the first time I drove over the summit into the pass, and every time since, I know I'm living in the west when I drive through the Wilkerson Pass. The vast open space, the herds of antelope and buffalo, and the vista of the collegiate peaks is stunning. If ever you have an opportunity to drive from the Springs...

When the aspen trees turn in the fall, the sight is spectacular. There's a good rest stop at the summit, too.
We live in the area (well, 40 miles), and when we have visitors, we always make the drive here to show them the Continental Divide.
