After we past through town, we spotted Vino Salida- needing a bottle of wine, we stopped; however, it's not a liquor store but a local winery! What a pleasant surprise to have stumbled upon this gem! We tried several wines before selecting a red and a sweet mead. Nice people, great find! Can't miss it- it's the pink building!

OK, sure, the Monarch Tram is out there, but Vino Salida is much more a hit, with all due respect... We're talk in' fine red wines, tasty whites, people who pour so much more back into the community in the way of tastings, food pairings, smiles over a nice cool Riesling during an art show, All of the above. Love this little winery. Try the Tenderfoot Stomp and the Vino Rosso. Steve the winemaker is making up some great wines!

When we arrived Steve the Vintner was crushing viognier grapes (from western Colorado) and his very pleasant helper took me back and gave me a bunch of grapes to taste. What a treat to savor the surprisingly sweet grapes on their way to being fashioned into such tasty, dry wine! I sampled the 2009 and 2011 viognier and the mead... More

Highly recommend....especially after white water rafting. Wine is really good here. Bought 2 bottles on the spot of their rare foot stomped, "tender foot stomp" merlot. Will go back on next visit to salida and buena vista

This place looks a little unusual from the outside but it is definitely worth checking out. You are greeted at the door by the owner who is excited to offer wine tastings and very passionate when he describes his wines. He offered my boyfriend and I a tour of his winery and even gave a sample from the barrel. I... More

At Salida's 7,000 feet elevation and climate, grapes just don't grow well, so the owner Steve Flynn buys his grapes from vineyards in the western slope of Colorado and California. He makes all his wines and bottles them on premise. Tastings and tours at this small winery are currently free. His white wines are unusual, complex and highly drinkable, while... More

I went for a wine tasting and was pleasantly surprised by the excellent wine and knowledge of their wine. It was a very nice friendly place to try some new wines. The owner gave us the wine tasting and the experience was like talking with a friend. The place seems odd from the outside but you will be pleased with... More

I don't know a lot about wine but it was a lot of fun tasting and trying out the different kinds available. I got some great information and a fun time with my small group.

This place seems like a hole in the wall (well, it kinda is), but we really liked our visit here. Our hostess was fun to chat with and gave good information about their wines. We liked their small batch approach and loved the "mistake" wines. This is a different tasting experience in that you'll taste some "modifications" to that traditional... More
