This is a very sweet little museum. It is obvious that the forces behind it are proud of the achievements of Vail and they should be. I take my grandchildren there for a brief period of history.

If you are a history buff you will really enjoy this museum. It recounts how Vail was started by a 10 th Mountain soldier and has a whole room dedicated to these brave men. It also boasts the information, clothing, skis, and snowboards of famous athletes. Also has a great gift shop for picking up historical type souvenirs.

If your a skier or someone who appreciates the industry this is your place. The displays about the 10th mountain division are great. It is interesting to see how skiing has changed over the years. Surprisingly my kids even liked the place. I think I found my neon jacket from the 90's. Greatly enjoyed this museum.

If you are a skier with any interest of ski history this is the best of the 3 ski museums I have been to. If I had known that it was going to be that good I would have planned for more time there.

Interesting local history with a myriad of donated relics ... anyone missing that fluro and silver ski gear from the 70's and 80's? You can waste an hour or two and pick up a neat souvenir. They show a movie every so often, but we had to get back down the hill before the roads got too icy. Free to... More

. Its free but you cannot walk out without giving a donation to this lovely little museum. It's amazing how ski and snowboard equipment has changes. Lovely items on view for you to look at. Great short videos of how vail started and has devolved.

Before hitting the slopes, spend your first day getting acclimated to the altitude by visiting this fascinating museum near the transportation center. It chronicles the development of skiing, snowboarding and the associated equipment. Included also are scenes, highlights and videos from various olympics featuring the top skiiers and snowboarders. The highlight, though, is a gripping, graphic video of the famed... More
