This is not a beach to plant yourself on. Its another place to avoid traffic. Foamy surf. If you come in May, prepare for the lovebugs. There are swarms of them

I love this beach. Not only can you drive on it, but it has powdery sand in the lounge areas that make it a real gem! I was impressed how clean the beach was with so many people using it.

Overzealous police/beach patrol will give you a ticket if you drive one mph over the 10mph speed. Also, paying to go on the beach irks me as I was born here

The beach and surrounding areas near the boardwalk have really cleaned up. The downfall is that most attractions have been closed or torn down. there is not as much to do as in the past. Hopefully now that there is plently of open real estate, some nice places will fill in.

We set up our umbrella, brought lunch and enjoyed the view along the beach. The area that we went to did not have a food truck as other beaches that we visited had so be sure to bring beverages.

Daytona Beach allows cars but not 'animals'.. I think they mean pets because many animals/mammals including humans are on the beach. Volusia County may want to consider providing pet owners with a Permit.. special training class for pet owners and pets to review rules and possibly 'qualify' for beach access, possibly during morning and evening hours after the crowds leave.
