I've been to Ft Myers a number of times to visit family but never knew much about the history of the town. We stumbled upon this little gem of a museum and found it to be very worth the time. There is a good self-guided audio tour and it did a nice job of showing the history of the area....

We were surprised on the level of artifacts and information on the history of SW Florida. The museum starts you at the early history and as you move through the museum it takes you toward current day SW Florida. The best exhibits are mostly thru the early to mid 1900's. The replica "cracker house" was well done and interesting in...

I like to learn about the history of every area I visit. A good starting point is often the local museum. That was the case here. The museum goes through the history of the area starting with the dinosaurs.

Bonus is duel admission into the nearby Imaginarium Hands On Science Center which makes this ticket a good value for people traveling with kids. It had...

We found the visit to this museum to be worthwhile ... very good experience, especially if you have an interest in the history of the Fort Myers, FL area. A nice collection of photo - relics - antiques, etc. - even an old train luxury private coach car. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful answering questions. Entry fee is...

I went here when I first arrived in Ft. Myers to get a sense of the areas, history. It was great. Nice, self guided audio tour. Most things are indoors which is great for the summer-fall weather.
