They have an excellent collection of planes, bombs, and missiles. The volunteers appear to work hard to keep the aircraft outside in the weather in good shape. We appreciated the opportunity to get a look at equipment we've only heard about. Love the volunteers! The museum is free, but I urge y'all to contribute in the box in the lobby.

This museum is located not too far from the gate at Eglin AFB. It is on the smaller side, which is surprising given the immense military presence in the area. The exhibits were informative and they have a decent collection of planes on display outside.

We enjoy going to Museums when we travel. We decided to take the day and go to the Armament Museum. There was a nice collection. We took our time to read the descriptions and had an enjoyable time watching the little ones reactions to all the airplanes and helicopters. We browsed the gift shop and bought a few things to... We travelled here with two boys, 8 and 5 who thoroughly enjoyed everything about the museum. Took a couple of well spent hours to look at each and every plane/helicopter, take pictures and read each description.

While driving to the beach, we seen all these army planes and decided to stop. It was very educational and very enlightening. So glad we stoped.

A great collection of aircraft dating as far back as WWII. Dod I mention that admission is free! They have a great collection of weapons also.

Lots of old planes and armament inside and out. Well defined as to what, when and how used. Eglin AFB is the largest munitions base in the world and the site of testing of the efficacy of those munitions. Also, celebrations of many individuals and groups for their contributions in wars from WWWII to the present. If the military history... More

The Air Force Armament Museum was so cool If are a military buff or a kid that wants to see the US Air Force coolest planes up close. They even have a place where you can get into a real cockpit of a plane. Best of all it's FREE!

I visited the museum several years ago with my wife and children. This time I was on my own and decided to stop by again. The array of aircraft in the "front yard" Is amazing- a B-52, an SR71 Blackbird, an F-16 and 15 etc. New to the museum since my last visit is a MOAB bomb which seems to... More

My parents, husband, 6 year old son and myself visited the Armament Museum in March 2013 on a non-beach weather type of day. We had this on our list of To Do's while in Destin because it was free and my son loves planes. My family really liked the fact that the kids can run around outside and see the... More
