We own individual kayaks but rented a tandem while in Amelia Island to experience kayaking there. We were not disappointed. A map is provided of where to go and if you reach your destination, you end up on Little Talbot Island where there are several sandy beaches you can rest your weary bones at and enjoy a dip as well... I kayak the creeks of the St. Johns weekly, and because of the discount offer as well as a friend's recommendation, I decided to try this place, only 30 minutes from my house. Pretty surroundings set back on A1A on Little Talbot Island, and good store stock offering items that I might have left at home. I used my own... More

Ray and his staff were very helpful and guided us along the beautiful and winding waterways on our kayaking tour. Mike gave us lots of information and showed us many of the wildlife within and around the river.

I was reluctant to go kayaking. However, with Kayak Amelia being so close to home my mom and I figured we would give it a try. We had an awesome day and will definitely be going back. Pros- knowledgable and friendly staff, Ray's chocolate chip cookies!!, the gorgeous weather and water. I would say it was the perfect day.

It was really windy for our Marsh LIO trip so we went inland. We had a great time and enjoyed the knowledgeable guides. Inspired: 1300+ year old Cyprus tree and Ray's famous chocolate chip cookies! Pro: Relaxing trip, nice kayaks, great to see nature on the river, amazing biodiversity, easy parking, fun people on trip, guides CJ and Ray Con:... More

Kayak Ameila does a great job outfitting us for a beautiful day on the water. They are careful to point out the tides, so you aren't surprised on the way back, and the store has cold drinks and snack bars as well as cool fair trade gifts. We paddled to a sand bar in view of fort George and snacked.... More

This is our 2nd time kayaking here. We had such a great time last year that we came back again. We rented 3 double kayacks. Enjoyed seeing the many different birds and plants in the canals. We kayaked to a beautiful sandbar. Great staff. We will be back again.

This was our second adventure with Kayak Amelia. We had such a great time last year we had to go out with them again. CJ, our fearless leader, is both knowledgable and entertaining. He gave us a great tour of the fresh water side. They give you delicious chocolate chip cookies at the break too :) We've also rented their... More

We arrived 15 minutes before our 8:00 start time and found the entry gates locked. About 8:00 two staffers (one of who I later learned was the owner, Ray) arrived from the highway in a jeep. They never acknowledged us. A third staffer in the office --I believe it was the owner's wife--her sole greeting to us was to instruct... More

The bikes were not very comfortable and seemed out dated..you are not allowed to ride these bikes on the beach or certain trails. Wasn't worth the money..had family rent bikes from "beach rentals" off fletcher avenue and their bikes were ten times better and cheaper. The staff also asked for an id or car keys for collateral whih we thought... More
