We got an early dinner and come out to Mallory Square, found a good spot to watch the sunset. We were tired of walking so just sat and enjoyed the folks around us, missing most of the street performers. The view was great and relaxing. As others have sAid don't leave when the sun goes down, Mother Nature isn't done... More

It is a fun place to be. Just keep your wallet in your pocket. If you want to see the "famous Key West Sunset" wait until the fall. Right now is sinks over an island. To see it set in the ocean, you need to take a boat around the island. There are several you can choose from. If you... More

Of course visiting Key West you have to watch the sunsets by visiting Mallory Square. We've done this many times. Most of the artists are good at what they create, and worth while too. Entertainers are something special.

So the sun sets and the views are nothing so special. Have seen better sunsets in other locations but I did enjoy the hype of it all and this is good to see at least " once ". The area is empty any other time and gets really super busy before sunset. The bars are packed, the busters do their... More

The Sunset Celebration in Mallory Square is world famous. It is much more than just a sunset. There are street performers who do anything from sword juggling to fire eating and beyond. My favorite is an older gentleman who walks a tightrope right at the water's edge. There are artists who bring their work to sell, tee shirts, jewelry, other... More

There is lots going on in Mallory Square from shopping to dining and historical sights. It is near the harbor and Duvall street is one block over. Lots to do. Town Trolley and Conch Train start their trips here.

We chose to get a "ring side" seat and ate/drank at the Westin Hotel. On cue at 8PM, the crowd pushed forward toward the waters edge, cameras and cell phone cameras at the ready for the awesome sunset. It's over quickly, but we got a bunch of beautiful shots of the setting sun.

Of course, the sunsets are gorgeous. But the scene was overrated. The street performers, vendors and food were below average. We found better places to watch the sunset.
