My husband and most of his bicycle group rode across the bridge. I followed by car and this certainly is an exciting and beautiful ride.
It does what it says, it's a bridge that links the islands. What is interesting is looking at the old bridge that is now rusting away. Interesting and if you are going to Key West by car, it's the only way to travel!
A tribute to man's ingenuity. Links some of the Florida Keys to allow you to drive all the way to Key West using other bridges. The inhabited area on the Northern side was the site of filming for the TV show "Flipper".
Well, it's seven miles long and it's a bridge, what more can I say. It does what it says on the can.
The views on either side of the bridge are wonderful, driving early in the morning or late in the day are the best times to see beautiful colors.
My husband and I enjoyed the ride and enjoyed the stop where we could walk a piece of the historic bridge and relax by the waterfront. Travelled twice, great each time!
If you have the means, take a convertible over this bridge and feel like you are driving on air or open water...One of, if not the best stretch of road in our nation, and definitely the best in the Conch Republic. I'll be back...
Great for a motorcycle ride. Beautiful views. Go to No Name key to the restaurant there. I think it is called No Name Bar. Hang a dollar for me (gotta go there to get it). Worth the stop......
