We walked the short distance from the parking lot to the Eldora State House to find a very knowledgable attendant who told us all about the State House and the history of the area. We highly recommend this "off the beaten path" attraction.

a small museum on the canaveral national seashore new Smyrna end section, which describes life in 19th/20th century in this area not always open
Canaveral National Seashore includes this historical house, a visitor's center with a nice seashell collection and some fabulous beaches! Wonderful for swimming, fishing, biking and walking. It is so beautiful and non-commercial.
What a wonderful part of history preserved for all of us to enjoy and learn from. Nice sand walking to the house. Great river views, also. The unisex toilet located at the entrance of park was disgusting! Something needs to be done about it, or just CLOSE it down!
Very interesting history of the area, well maintained. But it isn't open too often so you have to be lucky to be there when it is open.
This is an interesting exhibit of the house, a brief historical film, and pictures and artifacts of what the house and the surrounding area was like from the late 19th century until the last owners left in 1959. It is located inside the Canaveral National Seashore Park, so you need to have a pass or pay an admission fee to...

Cape Canaveral National Seashore is a very interesting place. We usually go to Playalinda Beach on the south side of the park, which is very different. The north side is more historic.
Just a fun add on to my day trip to New Smyrna. JB's for lunch!! National Seashore for photo ops. I still say this is one of the most beautiful beaches in this country. To heck with Conde Naste . If you like shell picking this is a good beach for it. Lots of private areas for quiet family outings/picnics....

It's so peaceful to walk around and the impressive house has been beautiful restored. We have yet to catch a time when we can...

It is well run by the Nat...
