We were surprised at the amount of shells on this beach compared to others we've visited. There were so many, in fact, that you almost HAD to wear shoes because they were uncomfortable to walk on. We found a few cool ones, but most were damaged or crushed from being stepped on. The area is very nice, though. The (free!)...

This is "the beach" to our children. The beach where we go every year. The beach where they will remember when they grow up and talk about going to "the beach." We love it at St. Augustine. Beautiful beach. Big enough, but not too big waves. Great family atmosphere. Not too crowded.
We felt like it was a private beach. Close to the hotel and not crowded. Took a walk at night and saw some awesome shooting stars.
Nice Beach but Clearwater Beach is still the best! If you like the not so white sand, go to the ocean, if you like the white soft sand, go to Clearwater Beach instead. Sorry :)
So much sand. Plenty of room to spread out and play. 100 yards of sand from the dune to the water. Plenty of room. Had a great time.

Plenty of places to eat or shop and most were within walking distance of our hotel. What I liked best was how it never seemed to be crowded. We will certainly return for future beach vacations
I knew I would love St. Augustine Beach because beachs are awesome! It was the first time I was able to stay for more than a few hours at an Atlantic Beach (Cocoa Beach was the first but I only walked it for a few hours and was so impressed I had to come back). We rented a cottage on...

There's a splash park for babies up by the parking area. There are some rocks near here and tide pools form and starfish can be found there. The only thing...

I honestly did not think I would like St. Augustine Beach as much as other areas we have visited. We rented a house here two years ago and have been looking forward to getting back here since. It is so peaceful and clean compared to other beach areas. It is a place that my family would truly be happy living...
