The parking area for this beach area is across the street and a little walk away. You can park at the entrance if you are handicap. Bathrooms located right at entrance. We didn't stay to long at this beach as it was a very windy day due to a storm coming in. Beach was not the cleanest one we have... More

Great shelling can be found at this beach, but parking is expensive if you're not a Sanibel resident. Go anyway. It's one of the reasons you came to Sanibel, isn't it?

Despite the cold weather (60ish for daytime temperature in Southern Florida is cold!), we had an awesome time. We saw some dolphins and other wildlife. Our children collected sea shells as the entire beach is crushed sea shells. Lovely combination of woods and beach. Something for everyone! Easy to get to and a short drive to Fort Myers Beach.

A lots of shells at the beach. We also saw dolphins several times just a few meters from us.The sun was hot and the sand was cool.

The Gulfside City Park Beach, offers BBQ grills, picnic tables, bathroom facilities and a great beach access. We saw several gopher tortoises around the picnic area which our grandson's enjoyed. There is a $2 per hour parking fee.

his beach is not on my top list of Sanibel beaches to visit again . It just seems a bit dirty. The beach needs a bit of raking and clean up. There were what looks like horse conch egg casings (but I'm no expert) all over the place. The about two dozen parking spaces (@ 2 dollars an hour) fills... More

My kids had the best time on their boogie boards at this beach today. The waves were the biggest we've experienced on the island. Maybe 20' out, they found lots of conch, whelk, and a few olive and tulip shells. We will definitely return on our next trip.

Yes, there are some small dead fish at the waterline but not enough to ruin the beach experience. Since this is Sanibel there are lots of shells on the beach. It is not a sterile white sand beach. This beach is less crowded than the Lighthouse Beach. It has bathroom facilities, outside shower, parking for a low fee (takes credit... More

The day we visited, I was fortunate to hear a story on the news explaining what made our visit so unpleasant physically and in every other way. Red tide has affected 120 miles of beach since October. There were no posted warnings. I'm used to gulf beaches being dirty compared to Atlantic coast beaches but the stench in addition to... More

Nice beach. There are quite a few dead fish from the red algae. The fish are small, so I didn't notice bad odor. It was causing people to cough.
