Not far from just about everything in the Sarasota area the Legacy Trail is a very nice bike trail. There is parking off of McIntosh Avenue, and the trail is a delightful ride through all sorts of greenery.

The seating was cramped, not enough room for an average person to sit comfortably. The wines were awful. But the performance was wonderful and the orchestra was fantastic. Not sure I would do it again at that venue.
I attended a performance of the Sarasota Opera in March 2013. It was a selection of Verdi pieces, and it was teriffic. I was not sure what to expect, but it was a great evening of regional opera, and I applaud the supporters of the opera for creating such a lovel venue for opera in south Florida. It was great...

We enjoyed the production, albeit the subject matter was a little dark. The performers and orchestra were exceptional and the pre oprea talk was excellent and a great way to introduce the performance. HIghly recommend attending the pre performance talks.
The Opera House was a beautiful place. Elevators are available for those who can't do the stairs. The stage area was wonderful. Our group of 4 ladies had seats in the balcony. Actually, i do wish we could have sat in the mail seating area after being up in the balcony. The seats were comfortable, but the problem with the...

A gorgeous yet intimate opera house, benefiting from ample local philanthropy, this venue mounts beautiful productions in a most accessible fashion. You are close enough to the stage to be fully engaged, and you pay a fraction of then prices of major metro area houses. We have attended operas at the Met, in Vienna, in Boston, and at the Kennedy...

Programming is eclectic; a combination of old chesnuts and rarely performed pieces. Over many years, we have rarely been disappointed. The Met it is not (what is?) , but neither are the prices. Easy to get to and park; valet parking is available. This opera suffers from the common problem of aging audiences, exacerbated by Sarasota demographics.
Sarasota Opera, why you no have shuttle to garage when its raining? Great show! Awesome stage decorations and a phenomenal performance!
For Valentine's Day I bought the 3-pack of operas for my wife. She was thrilled and I was a hero.
The Opera House in Sarasota is a big oldish theater and has both great sound and a video screen above the curtain. That's where they run the sub-titles. You do understand the operas are NOT in English? But you can...

I've been attending the Sarasota Opera for the past 7years, driving up from Naples, Fl for their "Visitors Weekend" when they mount all of their productions from a Friday to Sunday so that visitors can experience it all in one weekend. This is a regional opera gem attracting people from the mid west to the northeast who appreciate the best...
