We were so very disappointed that we spent 2 hours being lectured to about how bad the Manatee area is being destroyed and neglected. Education is one thing, but we were looking for an enjoyable experience....and this was NOT enjoyable. Constant depressing news concerning the plight of the manatee was not in the description of the tour. Negatives" Other than... More

Capt Nancy is extremely knowledgeable of & informative on the environmental issues affecting this region! In 1 1/2+ hours cruise we heard about the mangroves and seagrass that are so critical to the coast of Florida. Although we never saw dolphins or manatees, we learned a great deal about and saw abundant birds along the way. There were children (ages... More

I have gone on this tour several times and will continue too. It is highly recommended and offers a different perspective on the usual florida water tours. It is fun, informative, interactive and educational. The surrounding areas are beautiful as is the water. We saw ample wildlife. The tour guide Barbara is quite informed about environmental issues as well as... More

I have had the pleasure of going on the Sunshine Wildlife Tour a number of times and am frankly amazed at some of the negative reviews I read here. While Captain Nancy is passionate about changing some of the problems of the Indian River Lagoon, she is always positive about steps that can be made to help the situation. She... More

The worst tour I ever went on due to the guide. We had to listen to her rants & point out everything wrong with Florida. I didn't go on the tour to be lectured on pesticides & fertilizer & bad mouth Florida! There were children on the tour & a passing boat told her there were 5 manatees but she could... More

We took the tour which runs for about 2hours in the St Lucie estuary. Gives excellent information about the history, native birds and fish and environmental problems of the area. The Captain is clearly very knowledgeable. Several recent reviewers have criticized her focus on the problems caused by local development but I thought the points she made were realistic and... More

Nice tour of the lagoon. The narration was a real downer. The Captain is very knowledgeable and environmentally aware but she needs to be a lot more positive. You're not going to inspire people to make positive changes by dumping non-stop bad news on them for 2 hrs. Seeing zooplankton was cool and some good bird viewing.

"Captain Nancy" is the single most negative tour guide I have ever experienced. She seems to be on a mission to point out everything wrong with Florida's environment and its human inhabitants. I consider myself to be an environmentalist, but after the first twenty minutes of her ranting, I started to look for the exits on the boat. My children... More

We take a tour with Captain Nancy every year when we go down to Stuart. She is so knowledgeable about the environment and the animals. Her tours are great and she is very friendly. If you are in her area you MUST take the tour. You will not be disappointed.

Captain Nancy brings the reality of preserving the lagoon and habitat as well as providing a historical aspect to the area. Trolling for critters with a net, and later viewing thru a hand held microscope brings the tiniest creatures to life. Praise to Captain Nancy for her constant efforts in retaining the fauna and flora of the Indian River Lagoon.... More
