Tallahassee Museum has a variety of exhibits. There is a farm homesite setup complete with the home, outhouse, animals, garden, potato house, store, etc. There is a plantation setup with old church, caboose, school, plantation house & slave house. A wooden bridge trail winds around animals such as panther, black bear, bald eagle, whitetail deer, turkeys, alligator, bobcat & otters.... More

The museum was a neat day trip. My grandmother was amazed that they had bald eagles; definitely the high point of the day. We both had never seen them that close before. My grandpa has a slower pace about him, so he enjoyed that there was no pressure that can be felt in bigger zoos/attractions. It's very laid back, and... More

If you are in town for a day or two, see the Mission San Luis and this. There are no two better places to quickly get to know North Florida history and nature. As an added bonus, the zip line is amazing. Worth the trip in itself.

what a wonderful place to see .. a jewel by every standard .. especially loved that all the animals are from Florida and that they are kept in cages as natural as they can be.. You have to look to find them but they are there.... loved the zip line ( canopy walk ) but I wouldn't do it ..

My fiance' took me. I loved all the native wildlife. I won't zipline, but it is great that they have them. It was a good time & very inexpensive.

My wife and I decided to take a mini vacation to Tallahassee during March...before the hot/rainy season began for the summer. The Florida Museum was our favorite part of the trip. It is a very popular place and there were plenty of people the day we were there. The good news is it is an outside museum that has plenty... More

I recently visited this museum that is hidden away from the city a bit. I found it to be an enjoyable way to spend an afternoon. The Zip lines were excellent and the visiting animal exhibit (Tiger) was also good. This museum serves a great purpose in Tallahassee in that it is a tiny outdoor animal sanctuary. Animal lovers as... More

My wife was visiting someone in the hospital and I found this place on TripAdvisor. I took my two year old and it was an incredible day. They have an old plantation/slave school and a church that we went through and it was really compelling. Great animal exhibits, and a really cool old timer farm. Really amazing scenic views, and... I had no idea of what to expect when I went here. This place turned out to be fantastic. The boardwalk is amazing, and to see the native animal in their true habitat is just priceless. The Perky story is just so heartwarming. The old building gives you a great feel of life back then. This is a place you... More
