The 3,600 seat auditorium is seven stories high, and the vertical "C-H-I-C-A-G-O," sign is one of the few such signs in existence today. A symbol of State Street and Chicago, the marquee is a landmark in itself, as is the Wurlitzer pipe organ. Patrons can also go behind-the-scenes on their educational venue tour, which runs a few times a week. « less

I've seen many shows here over the years. Recently saw Chickenfoot. The acoustics are fantastic and there is not a bad seat in the house. Drink lines tend to be a bit long at times More

I went to a Creed concert this month in the Chicago Theatre. It is absolutely breathtaking. The architecture is phenomenal and it really takes you back in time. The acoustics were surprisingly great. The seats are comfortable, and the staff was cordial. More

I have grown up in Chicago and have seen the theater thousands of times. Never had the chance to go inside until last week for the Rodrigo y Gabriela concert. I am so glad that we went early. We walked around this beautiful buiding and felt like we were in a time machine. Loved the place so much that we... More

I have seen many great shows here. You do have to pay like 20 bucks to park. ABC 7 is across the street, so you can watch the news for fun and the weatherman may come out. More

We have gone to this theatre many times for events. This time we bought tickets to their Marquee Tour Behind the Scenes. We learned of the history of the Theatre, were able to go both on stage, back stage and into the dressing rooms where performers wait before the curtain draws. Truly a Chicago gem and a historical icon. More

This majestic theatre is absolutely breathtaking. It was "the" movie house back in the early and mid 70's. I More

This old time theatre was restroed years ago and it is a sight to see. They have events for everyone there and it is a fun stop to go see a show. However, if you are a little over your playing weight, these are narrow seats from the days when people were a bit thinner than today. Take this into... More
