We have been to musicals and plays before at The Chicago Theatre but this time we attended a comedy event and it was just as good. The theater is intimate and a great location. As with any theatre, there are not enough restrooms but everything else is great. There are also many great neighborhood restaurants nearby.
Always a good time and a great looking venue, it's one of the more ornate venues in Chicago and sound is typically good. I prefer floor seats that are not under the balcony, or very close to front balcony seat. But I have had good seats/times in many many sections here.
Take the behind the scenes Chicago Theatre tour weekdays at 12 noons for $12-. Derek is manager and excellent tourguide. You'll see everything: Stage, Dressing Rooms, Balcony seats, ornate lobby, hall of photos, Frank Sinatra's signature on wall leading to dressing rooms. Great experience and right downtown at State and Lake Sts.

Saw joe bonamassa --awesome show! The theatre is small but storied history. Beautiful frescoes & guidled architecture.

The tickets are also reasonably prices at $12 per adult. Basically...

I have never been here and for a comedy show it was a total waste of my money. Because I bought what was available in the first balcony and I paid over $100.00 just so I could watch a big screen TV!
They did not have enough security screeners, (It takes forever to get in!)there are no bathrooms to accomodate...

We saw Andy Gaffigan and enjoyed it immensely. It is fgratifying to laugh so much at a comic who uses no profanity.
