Last month I was visiting Chicago, and one of the places you have to go is the Navy Pier. It's on the Chicago shoreline of Lake Michigan. Its a 3.300 foot (1,010 m) long pier, with restaurants, shops, an IMAX theater, the Chicago Shakespeare Theater, Amazing Chicago's Funhouse Maze, the Chicago Children's Museum, the Smith Museum of Stained Glass Windows,... There really isn't that much at Navy Pier, which is a shame since the location has a great view of the Chicago skyline. It's a nice ride on the north side if you're on a bike, but the shops and restaurants tend toward tacky and overly-touristy. The best attractions are the view from the ferris wheel, the IMAX theatre and... More

Used to love this place - went there for a first date with my husband when they used to stage ChicagoFest there. Now it is a big, commercialized mess IMHO. Yes, there are things to do, but it seems like an expensive, cheesy carnival to me. A shame for such a historic landmark More

Not really that much to do on the pier - walk around and people watch. Various restaurants but not particularly great. One day that we were there it was 84 degrees and we couldn't find anywhere open that sold ice cream! There's a few fun fair rides. Good views of the lake and Chicago sky line. It was OK -... More

My family had a great time here! We rode the cariousel, the ferris wheel and took a boat ride on the speed dawg. We also went through the maze and time freak. Beautiful place to walk around or just kick back too. So much to see and do here, make sure to visit! More

We visited Oak Park IL for a wedding. There are so many attractions to choose from. Timing is bad with the NATO convention in town, so many of the attractions we could go to will be difficult to get to since many streets are being closed down. Today will not be spent in downtown Chicago! Too bad!!!! More
