My husband and I just visited today, and it was a wonderful trip! We toured the Lily house and grounds... absolutely beautiful! I'd say for $5 parking and free admission, there's no better place in Indy to spend your time!!!

Great art. Grounds are beautiful. Make sure to save enough time to go through 100 acre woods and Lilly mansion gardens.
I loved the free admission--so much so that I later joined the museum as a member! There is something for everyone to enjoy--modern, traditional, fiber. The displays are interesting and informative.
The grounds are beautiful. The museum for me is a restful, inspiring place. Whether you know anything about art or not, you will be impressed by the talented artists and sculptors whose works are displayed.
We recently visited the greenhouse area of the IMA complex. There are lots of varieties of interesting and unusual plants as well as old standbys. The stock is in excellent condition and the prices are reasonable. Some of the available categories are trees, shrubs, succulents, annuals, perennials, ground covers and cacti. I love all the different collections and styles of art. Each floor brings a different surprise. My favorite is contemporary but I also enjoy the rest. I always have a good time wandering around and there is always something new to see every time I visit.
Enjoyed all the exhibits. The museum has three floors of various types of exhibits: cultural, natural history and certain specific exhibits. The featured exhibits when we were there were Abraham Lincoln and James Dean. The museum has a tea room and small cafe and lots of spacious areas both inside and out.
The museum has come a long way,My grand daughters love going there bad part we can hardly get them to leave. All familes should try and go it is worth every penny.
Visited Indianapolis for the first time and we were very impressed by the IMA. And to think it had free admission except, however, for the separate Ai Weiwei exhibit. For that alone, there was a $12 adult admission. The exhibits were varied and most enjoyable. Well worth a visit. It was a nice surprise to learn that photography is allowed...

Excellent museum. Much better than the Columbus, OH and Pittsburgh, PA museum of art. This is an outstanding museum and shows that money is being invested to make improvements and to bring rotating displays. We have been there four times. It's a large museum so we recommended covering the museum in several visits. Recommended.
