We had especially planned our trip to arrive sat by 1pm to hear Eva talk, but unfortunately she was out of town. Call first if you are making social travel plans! Still, the museum is interesting and not as emotionally draining as some others, but still haunting and very effectively presented. There Wes a very nice retired school teacher who... More

We got there in time to hear Eva talk. I was expecting maybe a half hour talk. It lasted around 2 hours with 4 stages. You took a sit and then brought the chair at each station. Eva's talk was very interesting and her bright and funny outlook on life is totally opposite of what she went through.

I visit the museum with my students every year and they're never disappointed. At CANDLES they can meet and hear the stories of survivors, ask questions and have this experience from a primary historical source. Highly recommended!

We had the privilege of visiting the first time when we were taking a family vacation in 2010 on our way from Charlotte to the Black Hills. Mickey was our tour guide and told us his heart wrenching survival of the Holocaust. In June 2012 my husband, younger son and I had the fortunate opportunity to join Eva on her... More

If you stop here, you will be glad you did! The Museum is focused on a set of stories, not a collection of objects. You will learn about the Holocaust and survival, which alone is worth the time you spend. Imagine living over a year in a cruel concentration camp, being a subject of medical experiments, surviving, and then forgiving... More

Visiting this museum is a once in a lifetime experience that I highly recommend. At CANDLES, you're not going to see a museum filled only with relics and descriptions. Instead, what you're going to experience is the Holocaust through the eyes of a survivor of Auschwitz and Dr. Mengele. Through her twice weekly presentations, Eva Kor is careful to not... More

We were visiting colleges in the area with our daughter and stayed overnight in Terre Haute. We had looked for area attractions online and found the Museum. We arrived when they opened on Saturday and had a little time to look around at displays until the Docent gave her presentation. The Docent in this case was Ewa Kor, who was... More

I have been to the museum several times and have had the honor of meeting Eva Kors. This place is full of information that is presented in a way that is easy to understand. It is not unusual to find Eva hanging around - make the time to speak with her. Holocaust survivors are becoming few and we should all... More

Extremely interesting and informative. The stories will break your heart and make you thankful for our Country and what others have sacrificed and endured for freedom.

In early 1980 I took a course at Indiana State University on the Halocaust. One day we had a guest speak, Eva Kor, one of the "Mengele Twins" and survivor. Now, in 2012 I saw a movie on Netflix titled "Forgiving Mengele". Much to my surprise the film documented the works of Mrs. Kor and how she decided to take... More
