The people here were very nice and our tour guide knew a lot about what she was telling us, but it almost didn't feel bourbon centric - like their distillery and property was more interested in bottling and selling all the other cheap booze they send out than the bourbon. Their focus is more like a bottling plant and not... More

This wasn't my favorite stop on the Kentucky Bourbon Trail. The tour really didn't show much, other than the high volume filling operation. This was very interesting, but was not why I stopped. I would skip this distillery in favor of others if you really want to see and learn about bourbon production.

This is for sure a "rye" enthusiasts stop on the Bourbon Trail - do go there if that's your fancy, they are passionate people that make a specific range in my opinion. The tasting room is modest but very inviting, the staff quite nice as well and I picked up some Bourbon Char for my barbecuing which I didn't get... More

We recently traveled to Louisville and wanted to check out a few distillery's. We decided to go to 1792 as one of our spots. I had purchased this bourbon before so was familiar with it and was eager to go here. We had a great time, we arrived just after they opened around 930. They were very welcoming and started... More

Stopped here for their tour and got a tour and more. Our tour guide provided some wonderful stories of the distillery and Bardstown, the most beautiful small town in American. The tour began with a tour of some of the machinery although much of it was no longer in use or not operating at the time. We then visited the... More

Kind knowledgeable staff give you interesting tour and tasting. We came at end of March just after they stopped distilling for the season till next fall, so we didn't get to see the coal boiler burning that another visitor mentioned. There was still plenty to see with all the machines, barrel warehouse, springs, and bottling factory. I'm excited to try... More

The free distillery tour offers a great history of Kentucky Bourbon and the processes that it takes to become bourbon. The Barton 1792 Distillery is nearby the downtown of Bardstown which is billed as the most beautiful small town in America. Although we were told that it could be walked to from the downtown area, the walk was a bit... More

By far, the most educational and fun distillery tour. Our guide was fantastic and took the time for all our questions. We did not feel rushed as with some of the other tours and our guide was very knowledgable and enthusiastic about the company and their products. We were shown the process from start to finish; from receiving the grain... More

Although it was snowing and there was only 6 of us for the tour, away we went as Rick showed us the grounds. Starting from the beginning where the grains come in, to the high up fermentation tanks and the awesome aging racks. Bottling line was shut down, but our tour improvised and made it worth our while. They are... More

Don't let the guard that takes your name as you pull in scare you away...this is a great tour!! Our tour guide was Rick and he was one of the most personable and knowledgeable tour guides I've ever encountered! It was a FREE, informative tour of a great Bourbon. It was Saturday so unfortunately we didn't get to see the... More
