Our main goal was to go down and hang out by the river. Then we decided to explore the shops. I realllly wish I could remember the name of this one shop -- all I remember was the home made fudge and the ice cream.... but most important was the hospitality and friendliness there. I was desperate for a meal... More

There are just enough shops to give you a variety to choose from for gifts, antiques & there is even an old hardware store. All of the staff in the shops & restaurants were very friendly. There is on gift shop on a side street with an eating establishment with the same name I would not enter again. The owner... More

Spent a lovely Friday night & Saturday morning shopping in the historic area. The shopkeepers were so friendly--they really went out of their way to make you feel welcome. My favorites were Cane River Kitchenware which had several free samples, including freshly ground flavored coffee, and the toy store where we were welcomed even though we arrived just a few... More

Walking up and down the narrow brick road window shopping was such a treat! Tons of huge glass windows to look thru and wonderful displays of old and new things!

While the historic district is nestled in a beautiful area, I found it to be smaller than expected. Loved the brick road and the Christmas lights around the river are very pretty. Was disappointed however, that most of the shops were closed on a Friday.

Great development of the local main street. We really enjoyed the shopping and storekeeper interaction.
