Just did this tour today and we really enjoyed ourselves. Portland has such a fasniating culinary life. The only reason we didn't rate this higher was because realistically you get about $3-5 worth of food whereas the tickets were close to $45 I think. The tour was very fun and honestly worth the $$ just know you're not eating $40...

Thank you for taking a foodie tour with us and writing this review. You raise a good point that this tour is not about over feeding our guests and leaving you too full for walking around and getting back to many locations you will want to visit. I've taken many tours that were just over filling and I did not...

We visited Portland the weekend of February 24-26, 2012. We were only there once before for an overnight stay many years ago, so we needed some ideas of what to do. After looking on the PortlandMe.com website, we discovered the Maine Foodie tour. We signed up for the Cu;linary Walking Tour. This is a 2 - 2 1/2 hour walking...

Since it was a cold, snowy day my husband and I were the only ones on the tour with our great guide Harold-and that made it so personal. We went to several shops and had tastings of local flavors, all the while learning the history of Old Portland. The next day we went back to several stops to further chat...

Interesting information about chocolate and history of Portland. A bit skimpy on number of samplings.

First time to Maine gave us and overview and history of Portland. We visited a deli and tasted cheese, chocolate shop for woopi pies, bakery, spice shop for oil and spices, fish market for smoked fish, brewery and much more. The entire tour took about 2 hours and we had a great guide.

Our tour guide was very well informed. Not only did he tell us all about the food of Portland, he gave us a great overview of the history of Portland as well. He pointed out great places to eat and great places to visit. I would highly recommend this tour as an introduction to Portland's best foodie spots but also...

I have been on a couple of other food tours in different cities. When I planned a trip to Portland I discovered that they had a food tour definetly wanted to take it. The tour itself was good. We got a lot of good information about Portland and the food that we were eating. My main issue with the tour...

Our first trip to Portland and we booked a day ahead for the foodie walking tour. We were lucky to have a small group (6 people) and our guide, Randy, was just excellent. He was enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and personable. The sites we visited were different and all had something special to sample--vinegars, mead, jams, cheese, seafood, chocolates and more sweets,...

"Jessica is GREAT!" (do I get a discount?)
I took the Portland Chocolate Tour with Maine Foodie Tours. (I understand there is one in Freeport as well.) It was so different than other chocolate tours I have done in other cities. We tried truffles, bars, the "Maine State Treat", even balsamic and tea! The final stop included tasting a sparkling...
