Your typical Maine beach. Quiet and laid back. The real downside is the lack of hot women in bikinis. If that's what you're looking for head down to Hampton Beach. It gets more of the sleazy Masssachussetts crowd replete with greasy skin shimmering in the heat with gold chains & cigarettes everywhere!

There's a lot of large rocks and boulders directly below the parking lot at low tide but as you walk about 50 yards or so north, it's all sand, Plenty of the soft stuff at top and lots of packed, flat stuff great for walking/ jogging on. Can relax on the benches up top and even explore the shops in... More

I always enjoy Wells Beach, the area is less congested than the other area beaches and in my opinion, this beach is the best for enjoying a walk.

Love this beach!! Walked the beach and climbed the rocks in April. The beach is beautiful. The kids had fun climbing and walking on the rocks looking for crabs.

Just watching the tides come in and out was pleasurable. It was too cold and windy for me to walk on the beach.

Plenty of space if you're willing to walk a bit. Lots of nooks and crannies to check out. Good restaurant/ice cream place and gift shops.

Scenic and great walking beach--can walk either north or south from the parking lot. Right off Mile Road, plenty of parking in off-season. Centrally located in Wells.

It was a sunny spring day and we went for a nice walk on the beach with our baby girl. We had a jogging stroller with giant wheels so we had no trouble navigating through the sand. A regular stroller would NOT do well.
