Every time we visit the Cape we go to the Brewster General Store. It is very nostalgic and has some cute things like t-shirts, magnets, coffee mugs, coffee and candy. The floor creaks as you walk through since it is really old. There is a bench in the front of the store that is a great photo spot.

I only stopped by to get directions but was got progressively enchanted. Cute white building/house quite separate from other buildings. Feels like a touristy store with the usual knick-knacks and souvenirs when you first step in, but I continued exploring and found this place has more character and history than most. Loved that I went with my Mom who pointed... More

Such a great place to visit for that perfect trinket, food item, postcard, penny candy or even beach inspired kitchen towels, fishing nets to scoop up treasures, comic books or t-shirts. Best part of going in the off season, word burning stove where you can sit and rest your feet and swap stories with a local.

It was a nice old fashioned General Store. Lots of little things you can buy. There is an antiques area on the second floor. Very cute. Stop in if your driving by.

I was in this store as a kid in the 1950's. Now I appreciate it even more because I know many of the items are hard to find elsewhere. Penny candy is now dime candy! The items which appeal to kids are not the usual tourist trap junk, although I am sure many of the things are not "necessities". Coffee... More

This little country store has coffees and a small selection of pastries. The selection of unique "country store items" was interesting and fun to browse. The kids enjoyed the candy selection. The staff was a little terse and was the only thing that was to be improved upon.

I would have ranked this average, but we had to leave, drive a 1/4 mile away and then go back because they didn't have a restroom. What kinda of store doesn't have a restroom??? And I guess we aren't the only ones to be upset by this. They had a sign posted in the parking lot said not to pee... More

I've been going to the Brewster Store for many years. Lots of Cape Coddy types items, plus lots of tchotchke's that allow for a nice browse on both floors of the store!

Dropped by to see the old time setup. They practically had everything you would want in terms of candy and trinkets. The old nostalgia was awesome to look at and worth the visit. The staff seemed friendly, attentive, and willing to help out their customers. The store was a little bit on the expensive side as we decided to shop... More

We always have to stop here at least once. Growing up, my brother and I got the penny candy here and hoarded it. Not penny candy anymore, but they still have a great selection! They have some of the odd kitchen things that not many other places carry. A great selection of stuff, t shirts, books, notecards, puzzles. A definite... More
