This is my favorite beach. Best aspects: clean sand, warm bay water, beautiful sunsets. Worst: tourists shouting conversations across the beach and the flies after dusk.

We've been coming here for the better part of twenty years. Such a family friendly beach with vast tidal pools to explore. So many little critters for the little ones to find. Razor clams (shells) can be a nuisance from time to time. Hermit crabs (and other species of crab) are everywhere. Low tide is when the fun begins.......one can...

Skaket is a neat beach. It is a flat beach area and would be great for young children and older people. The colors of the water are always especially bright and blue, green. Very nice beach.
Remember those easy summer visits to the beach when you were a kid? Well, this one is a small, but casual and easy, family beach, with warmer water, parking [$15 on season/$5 off], and great views of Cape Cod Bay -- in any season!
In the summer, Skaket tends to be one of the more crowded Orleans beaches. It's more family-oriented than the ocean beaches, and at high tide can be rather small. In the winter it's a beautiful spot for photography.
This is a great beach because the water is pretty calm. Add on when it is low tide and you can walk forever allowing for lots of room for everyone and you have a great beach. Then you get a magical sunset and this beach is a hidden gem. This beach is everything that you could want rolled into one.
It's just amazing at low tide how far out the water is. Was so interesting talking to the locals who were digging for quahogs. Such a difference from the other ocean side at Nauset Beach . We have always been there in the off season, so the parking has always been free, but the snack bar has always been close....

This beach has a full view of the basin of Cape Cod Bay and gives you spectacular views of the Sunset. I remember one occasion (of course I didn't have my camera) where the sun touched the water centered perfectly behind a commercial fishing boat on the horizon - quite spectacular. Sometimes, the setting sun reflects on the Sagamore Bridge...

We discovered Skaket Beach in Orleans this summer. We live on the Cape and never knew about this beach. If you go, arrive before 11 am to get a parking spot. The day parking fee also gets you a day parking pass @ Nauset for the day, which is alot of fun. Check the tides before you go, if the...

Wonderful bayside beach! As with most of the beaches on the bayside, they are smaller in size with correspondingly sized parking lots. This is great place to take younger children for swimming or exploring when the tide is out.
