I have 3 kids under 3, and they loved it! There is a great big tug boat you can get on! I thought it was interesting! Small but worth a stop.

There is information on the canal and things to do to interest all ages. The staff was pleasant and helpful. Due to the history of the building it is moldy smelling. A walk out to the jetty and beach and some picnic benches with a view add to the outing.

This Visitor Center really shows you the amount of hard work and planning that went into this huge endeavor. There are activities for all ages. A boat for the kids to climb around on. A movie theatre for the more sedate. Videos etc. Driving over the bridge you don't really realize the amount of planning that went into the canal.

Wondderful background to then take a boat ride down the canal to see up close. You really get the feel of what a huge undertaking the canal was.

The Visitors Center has interactive displays that explain navigation through the Canal. It also explains the process of building the Canal in an interesting display of pictures. The location is also perfect near the east entrance to the Canal.

This building is next to the US Coast Guard station and the Cape Cod Canal. The building is one-story and contains a history of the construction and the life of the Canal. You can cover this center in less than 1 hour, and I believe you'll find it interesting.

My family visits here regularly. Check the hours to be sure it is open when you want to visit. You will learn a lot about the various boats and ships you can see traveling through the canal, along with what it takes to run this massive operation safely. I just love it. If you have any interest in boats, don't... More

I am reluctant to share this one as I like the less know aspect of this location. For 1st time visitors the Visitors center is the place to stop first. If you have been there and done that. There is a covered pavillion for picnicers and gravel and tarmac paths that lead down to the jetty for fishing and to... More

Great place for directions and information! What else is an information center for? Great place to find out about local events. Also check out Capecodonline.com

in my opinion you should make sure you see the movie on the history of canal. We were lucky enough to see a tug pulling a big freighter through the canal. There are interesting displays and informative writeups on the canal. The Armjy Corp of Engineers does a very nice job in answering questions. There is no cost to see... More
