My husband is an avid golfer and he played The Chief three times the week we spent here in Bellaire. I rode but did not play since I am a beginner and this is not a course I would recommend for new golfers. Challenging course with tight fairways and a lot of target golf with excellent greens. The course was in great shape and was very pretty, with all the hills. IT was quite a challenge, but still playable (from a senior female player's point of view). The husbands in our group also enjoyed playint it. We would all come back.

Visually the course is terrific. Lots of rolling fairways and many times your shooting across gorges from your t-box. After playing all the Shanty Creek courses I was disappointed that this one's fairways were a bit rougher. But still, they weren't bad by any stretch. Fairways are narrow. Lots of hard turn dog legs.
