Butterfly overload! Engulfs you in flurries of beautiful wings. Definitely better on a weekday, the slower pace of visitors and less congestion than on the weekend, almost ensures up close and personal interaction with hundreds of beautiful insects if you sit quietly and are patient.

This was a wonderful place to view butterflies! We had a great time watching these creatures flit about all around us. It was worth the small admission cost.

I went there with my kids and thought I would be bored. I was thoroughly entertained. Great experience and worth the price of admission.

All it is is a smallish greenhouse with some butterfly's - if you've ever been to a real butterfly habitats, you!'ll also be surprised - they tried to do something good, but it's a bit pathetic.

It was like being in a fairytale. Really great experience. Lots of awesome butterflies. Try not to touch them or freak out if they land on you.

We enjoyed our visit to the butterfly house. Very nice winding pathway with loads of plants and flowers that the butterflies land on (great photo ops), benches for sitting and just watching. My only complaint is no public bathroom. Would be hard for a family with small children when a little one needs to use a restroom "right now" as... More

Compared to a number of others I've visited, the butterfly house on Mackinac Island is relatively small. But the interior layout is tasteful, and the number of butterfly species viewable is impressive. The $7 entry fee seemed a bit on the high side, but virtually everything on the island is pricey, so it wasn't out of line.

I visited in Oct 2008, it was very nice then, but very hot with the sun warming it up in there, This trip was cloudy, which made the temperatures much better. We even got to see some new butterflies being released

A great place to take the whole family. The kids will be so excited when one lands on them! Take the camera with you for some great photos of all the different butterflies. Don't forget to check yourself before leaving, you don't want to take any butterflies with you. Visit the cute gift shop instead for a souvenir.
