If you are interested in learning about the building of the Mackinac Bridge from start to finish, this is the place to go! Very interesting information and a great way to remember those who gave their lives while building the bridge.

looking for a georgeous location no matter what time of year? this is worth the trip from anywhere in the US. the Splendor of the Bridge itself, combined with the OLD Town tourism of the downtown locaiton is really neat. Mackinaw island is also a terrific trip back into the past. come in the summer !!
Many years ago, the Bridge Museum was so cool but the fire destroyed so many of the artifacts forcing them to "recreate" alot of what was. Not too many originals of anything. Especially all the helmets/hats/clothing that was worn during the build. Most of what is now hanging up is not authentic. But they don't claim it to be, I...

My wife and I stopped by the museum and having it inside Mama Mias Pizza doesn't hurt. Price is free and they have about a half hour video on the making of the bridge and we found it very interesting, as a Michigan resident I did not know some of the information in the video. We liked all the memorabilia...

Small museum containing bridge building memorabilia, photos, brochures, postcards, bridge building equipment, bridge union labor, videos and newspapers. No charge for the admission and is well worth the visit.
Great 20 or so minute movie about building the bridge. A small museum of artifacts of the bridge building including workman's equipment, etc. and a model. Free will offering. Located on the main street on the second floor of Mama Mia's Pizza which according to other reviewers isn't the best in town.
Take a few minutes and visit - you...

Worth the time to discover this history. Leaned many things that I was unaware of and you don't normally think about when crossing this bridge.
This small, free museum is a bit corny, but still fun. It burned to the ground a few years ago, but has been rebuilt. It is located above Mama Mia's Pizza and open the same hours at the restaurant so in the the summer you can visit it late at night.
Small little museum above a pizza place - ok collection of information on the bridge. Also video playing that was kinda interesting. Doesn't take a lot of time to go through, but free so no biggie.
Loved the story and history of building the Bridge.. Helped put into perspective what it was like to have the state split by the great lakes and no good way to get accross UNTIL the bridge in 1057
