We spent a day here hiking the trails and jsut enjoying the park. The scenery is amazing, the trails were easy to hike and offered some great solidtude. Towering pines, northern lakes - everything you need for a great get away.

I went to bearhead lake park in december.. it was freezing.. :( and there were no bearheads... apparently i must say more..

We spent a day at Bear Head Lake State Park and I think it's one of my favorites. We hiked and relaxed by the lake, which was peaceful and quiet, especially for a Labor Day weekend. I see why this was voted favorite park a couple years ago!

The drive off the highway is well worth the privacy you'll find here. Campsites are nice sized and the shower/bathrooms very clean. The early morning here is amazing, so quiet. You need to be into the outdoors and able to go to a pit toliet to appreaicate this place. The facilites are very good for a state park, but subpar compared to a nice resort. This is a very nice state park on several beautiful lakes. The campsites are isolated and wooded, with lots of shade. It has a beautiful picnic ground and several boat landings, as well as camper cabins. Take a look for yourself!

Nice on shore camp ground good shower/bath facilities bit of a trip to Ely if needed to go to town alot.
