If you enjoy walking and biking with stress in the crowd, you will love this place.... but i you love nature, be quiet, relax and cool place, you will hate it... it's a lovely scenic area but more like an attraction park where people go for a walk or sport....

This lake is also a wonderful place to go and spend some lazy afternoons swimming, picnicking, barbecuing, and listening to the orchestra in the bandshell on the Northwest side of the lake in the evening. There's a trolley that runs about a mile here to take customers back and forth. Just off 50th And Penn on the south side to... More

I learned to swim in this lake at three years old, the old 47th beach so it's a favorite of mine. It's always been a special place for a walk, run, bike ride, concert or ice cream at the pavilion. Many races through the year with the two theme runs in the autumn which are really fun! Do the trolley... More

Lake Harriet is an awesome place to take the dog and kids for a walk! There are lots of stops around the lake to play, grab a bite, or just enjoy the view.

Well organized run around the lake. Police, Fire, Ambulance, race officials and volunteers working together for all. Clean paths and streets shared by runners, bikers, walkers, dogs, cats, birds. Green grass, flowers, fresh air, clean water, sailboats, trees, benches , everything needed for an outdoor activity. Oh, available porta potties too!

Lake Harriet has a lot to offer such a small lake and it begins with that. The lake is very walkable. It's great for people and dog watching. It has a band shell that usually has something going on in the summer early eves.

Best lake in the Twin Cities. A lot less urban than Calhoun or Isles. great lake for a family bike ride or early morning power walk.

A great view of Minneapolis as you drive around the lake. Absolutely gorgous homes surround the lake. Excellent biking, walking or running trail around the lake. Do the whole loop from Minnehaha Falls to Lake Harriett to Lake Calhoun and on north, well worth the trip.

I often walk around the lake with friend. Great scenery and people walking. There is a trolley for kids in summer(haven't used it in years) and a bandshell that offers concerts on weekends. But usually I just love the approx. 2 mile walk around the lake.

A beautiful walk, in a special part of Minneapolis. Some cute cafes, coffee shops & bistros nearby. Great bike paths that connects the lakes (Nokomis, Lake of the Isles, Calhoun & Harriet). The Harriet band shell offers free concerts, check out their schedule.
