I had never been to a "big City" library before. I grew up in Olathe and the library was nice there. But here - 5 stories?? Un-real. I can't wait to bring the grandkids up to the children's part - looks like my boys will have a blast here!

the library has an absolutely stunning entryway. Tons of reading options including many books from the Civil-War era. On the 5th floor there is a rooftop observatory where you can see really amazing views of downtown. There's also a nice area where you can play Chess with life-size pieces. If you are into libraries, this is a must-visit.
You need to see this if you are in the area. Very intriguing! I've never seen anything like it. In fact, there are many interesting buildings in Kansas City.
This is a beautiful place to wonder around, look at books and music and spend time doing some reading in a peaceful spot. Their service is wonderful and they make it really easy to borrow books and audio books online downloading them straight to my iPad. I love this place!
I almost didn't visit this attraction and If hadn't happened I'd regret so much!!
The garage of this building is very different and beautiful! The famous pictures that we can see on the Internet are, in fact, pictures of the garage.
The building where the library is located was, in the past, a bank. The space is huge, clear, easy...

This is quite a clever place. One of the most interesting things about it is the facade of the parking garage. I know this is a strange thing to say, but it's true. It is designed to look like a shelf full of books. I don't know if that makes it destination-worthy, but it's definitely stop-worthy.
This library is gorgeous! There are so many fun features, especially in the kids area. I bet story time there is a blast! The only thing a little disappointing is it is a bit difficult to navigate and figure out where certain sections are, but staff is available to direct you typically.
The parking garage on 10th Street is worth your time to see how this library draws visitors to it. I enjoyed the artistic creativity and the choices of classics that were selected.
They have speakers, they have film events they have so many things that so few people take advantage of. I am always amazed at the offerings.
Beautiful library in downtown! Just walking into the building is breath taking! Parking is not great, but its downtown so its expected.
