It is no wonder why this zoo has been rated the #1 in the great USA. It is a very relaxing experience. So much to see and do. The zoo is free but you have to pay for parking. It is cheap fun for the whole family. Very clean and entertaining. Zoo keepers are around to answer any question or... More

We have been coming to this zoo for many, many years. We have been to zoo's all over the country (San Diego, San Antonio, Chicago, and Kansas City) but this is the best in our opinion. Admission is free so the zoo can get busy. Parking is not free and can be an issue ($15 per car) but if you... More

As an adult without kids though this would be my one and only visit, the exhibits were nice, animals were all in their cages like they should be, and there were plenty of places to eat (although we didn't due to the prices).

MUST MUST for every STL visit. GO early! Record numbers attend! So worth it! The Stingray and shark COVE is magnificant. BIGGER and better than even TAMPA. Free to get in, paying for parking is so worth it. Great gift shops too! All year long open and things to enjoy. I have rode the old time carousel in the winter!... More

Easy to park near if not right outside and still improving its grounds and size. Fed the Stingrays and walked around taking in all the exhibits. Easy level walking and only pay for little extras such as the train but refer to their site for full details

What a wonderful gift to be able to stroll through the gorgeous grounds of the St. Louis Zoo. The setting is in Historical Forest Park. Your are fully immersed as you enter the zoo. The grounds are groomed and dispersed with the colors of an artist's palette. The pits are all open, so be prepared to duck if you are... More

Been to the St. Louis Zoo several times and loved it every time. The zoo is the biggest free zoo in the US and it is great for people of all ages. I especially love the penguin cave, super cute. Parking on a lot next to the zoo is $15, but there is plenty of free parking available throughout Forest... More

This zoo is awesome. We go several times a year. Several people are complaining about the parking on here. If you get there at opening, you can park close to entrance for free. Also, if you are on a tight budget, you can spend 5-6 hours walking around seeing animals and not have to pay anything. There is just so... More

We loved the zoo and had a wonderful time once we actually got in. It has great exhibits, not super overpriced items and lots of shade! The parking is terrible. It took us almost an hour and a half to get into a parking lot. Cars were lined up for miles and they only had 1 gate out of 3... More

The zoo does not charge an admission fee to visitors, which is a unique aspect of the zoo when compared to zoos in other big cities. There is a decent mix of mammals, birds and reptiles, although there seems to be some construction or the other always going on around the zoo, which spoils the natural beauty somewhat.
