The Museum consistently gets very interesting traveling special exhibits. My 10-year old daughter and I recently saw the "Civil War in Missouri" special exhibit in 3 installments (i.e., 3 separate days) and loved it!

Disappointed that the plane suspended from the ceiling is only the sister plane of the Spirit of St. Louis. Nice entrance with a large lobby featuring a sculpture of Thomas Jefferson. Paid to see the Civil War exhibition, which was pretty interesting.
I took the grandkids there for President's Day and I'm not sure who learned more--them or me! They got a kick out of seeing the display of St. Louis through the years, and very much enjoyed the traveling Washington display. We all had a good time and I was impressed at how much improved the museum was since my visits...

Visited with two African-American friends, the special exhibit of Black Men commentaries on growing up in Missouri and other parts of the USA. This was an excellent program, wish this special program traveled to other cities, especially my home city of Milwaukee. I by the way am a Caucasian. Too often Americans take for granted that all Americans have the...

This is a very nice museum. Easily accessed within Forest Park. Parking areas are a bit small but visiting in the spring, summer, or fall other parking lots are not too far away and make for a nice short walk to the museum. Good value for the cost.
Artifacts from Missouri's past are showcased in period-specific wings in this cozy and well-maintained museum. Whether your pleasure is the 1904 World's Fair or how the Civil Rights movement affected Saint Louis, you will find the history you seek.
Many galleries offer interactive learning opportunities for children (but are also neat for adults). Pictures are not welcome in every gallery,...

Our country is so rich with history and this location has an excellent story. The museum is well done and brings you through the times of war and slavery. It's unbelievable to read about and experience. The displays are well documented, easy to read and follow with many interactive opportunities. Don't be in a hurry, there is a lot to...

This lace is just ok. I can't rate it higher than that. It used to be much better but a change in management has lost the museum much of its adult appeal. Kids may like it but I don't.
I really enjoyed visiting this museum! I'm not from the US, so I haven't learnt anything about it's history which made this a really interesting visit, and now I want to know even more! The exhibits were great, informative and interactive, and not just a plain statement of facts. I really enjoyed the little shop at the end too, I...
