Even if you are not a committed birder, here is a wonderful way to explore the salt flats of Cape May for a couple of hours. Bags of binoculars are provided, and there is a bathroom on the boat. It's kind of an unimpressive looking flat bottom boat, but an intimate way to travel. There are cushion lined benches along... More

We took the cruise on Fri, May 10 at 1:30 - the captain and the naturalist were both really knowledgable, and also entertaining. The stuffed loon mascot was cool to have along. We ID'd many birds, including real-life loons, black-bellied plovers, lots and lots of ospreys, and many more. We went out to the Cape May Harbor and saw ships,... More

The Osprey is a smallish, flat bottom boat dwarfed by the bigger tour boats surrounding it at the dock. At first glance, it's not very impressive, and one might look with envy at the giant boat next door. Once you get going, though, it's apparent that the little boat will not disappoint. We went out onto the main waterway at... More

I highly recommend this even if you are not a birder. The guides were informative and fun. Binoculars are supplied and the wetlands are beautiful. We all had a great time (including the 21 and 10 yr old children)

We did the Birding By Boat on the Osprey and loved every minute..could have stayed on it for a day if that was an option. Capt. Bob and Dave were very, very knowledgeable...and the number of birds we saw was INCREDIABLE. We hated to see the cruise end..

A fun, relaxing trip for birders and non-birders alike. An excellent opportunity to get an up close view of the salt marsh's unique inhabitants, and learn what's what not only about birds but also of Cape May's history. Nice binoculars on loan, plenty of room on boat, an outside viewing platform, and the pontoon boat with it's shallow draft can... More

I have sailed with Captain Bob Lubberman and Naturalist David Lord three times now. I'll go again for sure! I'm mainly a novice photographer who enjoys photographing the birds seen on the cruises, as well as the scenery. I'm not much of a boater, so the Osprey sailing in calm waters if perfect for me. Bob and Dave are professional... More

We took the sunset trip (6-8pm) and had a great time! Both Captain Bob and Naturalist David were excellent guides. They were patient, knowledgeable, and made sure that everyone saw everything. There are extra pairs of binoculars to use so that no one has to share and everyone gets a great view. While this is a must-see for borders coming... More

This was our 3rd trip on the Osprey. It never disappoints. The owner is knowledgeable & personable. This trip my target bird was a Brown Booby. It wasn't where it was supposed to be, but they found her anyway. Thank you very much! A short-eared owl was a bonus. My husband isn't a birder, but he was happy just being... More

I was looking for something a bit different to do & found this trip. I phoned for info & was told to make a reservation, because if they don't have enough people they won't go out (enough was 6) we got there early, the cruise goes out of the Miss Chris Marina. I expected a small group on our pontoon... More
