Very enjoyable cellar tour - just my husband and I - with a guide who was happy to answer all questions. This was followed by wine tasting in the sun looking over the Franschhoek valley. What was not to like?

Fantastic views over the valley. The cellar and tasting room is a sight. We loved the bubbly and the Tranquille is one of our favourite Rose wines. When we were there they were a bit disorganised with too few assistants in the tasting room. We had to get up to fetch the next glass of wine each time. One of... More

We ate in the Cellars restaurant one evening and had a fantastic tasting menu that showcased their wines perfectly. The location perched on the way to the pass meant there was a wonderful view of the sunset with which to supplement a glass of their excellent champagne. We were fortunate that Achim von Arnim was dining with friends the same... More

One of the most fun wine tours I've been taken on. The lads are comedic and congenial, and the tasting was abundant. I continue to search for a blanc du blanc to compare...

Myself and two friends ate dinner here on Wednesday and were floored. Probably the most picturesque car park ever, provided outstanding views of the valley at sunset. Inside we spent about 1.5-2hrs over an amazing multi-course dinner. We were starving after our day of wine tasting in the valley The kitchen sent out complimentary broccoli soup as a starter and... The location is nice. We had a very interesting cellar tour with a very nice guide but the wines are poor. There is no wine that is worth to drink. Very young, unexperienced and not tasty at all. Also strange combinations of vines. Go just for the wine cellar tour!

Dear Floc77, We are glad you enjoyed the cellar tour at Haute Cabrière, and are sorry to hear that our wines did not appeal to you. Since wine appreciation is a very personal matter, we would like to share with other TripAdvisor readers that our wines – marketed under the Haute Cabrière and Pierre Jourdan brands - rank among the... Haut Cab (is easier to say than the full name), is a delight if not only to watch the owner with his sabre remove the top of a champagne bottle! the canapes were excellent and paired with the wine - the starters were delightful in thier pain pots and the Karoo Lamb was delicious! You cant leave without trying the... More

One of the few (if only) wine estate that does sparkling wine. Friendly staff and smooth wine tasting experience.

We ate here for lunch and I've never felt more uncomfortable in a restaurant. The food was genuinely spectacular, but the self-satisfied air of the staff and the feel of the place means it's not relaxing. La Petite Ferme further up the road is a country mile more enjoyable - with food that's equal or better. I would also warn... More

Wife loves Haute Cabriere Cardonnay Pinot Noir, so we took a trip out to Franschhoek via the Franschhoek pass(amazing pass not to be missed while visiting Franschhoek) to find this magical estate. Hidden in the mountain side in specially built underground cellars, this is a unique estate with spectacular views of Franschhoek. The Sparkling wines are of high standards and... More
