Family run, we offer the gentlest horses in the area and unlike most stables we keep them through retirement. We also run a Horse Rescue, and most of our horses came from auctions and other, unfortunate circumstances. Rides are approximately 45-50 minutes with an additional instructional lesson prior to the ride to help you familiarize yourself with how the horses have been trained and answer any questions you may have. Longer rides available for year 2012. SEI certified helmets provided. Children and Family friendly. We are an easy drive from Saranac Lake, Keene, Wilmington, Plattsburgh, and Essex areas. Walking distance from Main Street in Lake Placid. « less

My wife loves horses; we once took horse-riding lessons (6 weeks to be exact) many years ago. And so for her birthday this year, I decided on a horse-back ride during our visit to Lake Placid. We started off with a video presentation where Travis showed us the basic commands and the DOs and DON'Ts of horse-riding. We were given... More

Travis was extremely helpful and concerned for all riders safety. He ensured we had the knowledge and tools to ride the horses. All horses were friendly, well taken care of, and properly trained. The ride was about 1 hour and we went through trails on the large property, mostly through the woods. Potentially slow for seasoned riders. Again safety is... More

We visited in February of this year, with our two younger daughters both of which love horses! Trails are guided and a lesson is given prior to getting on the horses. Beautiful views of Whiteface Mountain. The warm cabin kept us warm while we were given the lesson, were being fitted for helmets and signed waivers. Would recommend this to... More

Booked a trail ride 3 weeks in advance. Called in the morning and confirmed. Drove 1hr out of the 2 to get there and called for directions and they cancelled. This was a birthday party for a 6year old. Please do not use this business it's poorly run and you can't count on them.

Dear Reviewer, Thank you for your review ! Our establishment offers many equine related activities for the whole family to enjoy. Your reservation was originally set for a horse drawn sleigh ride by Lake Placid Sleigh Rides at 2:00 pm in Lake Placid. The reason we would not be able to offer horseback riding to certain family groups, is that... More

The 9 and 12 year old boys with us enjoyed the sleigh ride. It was very cold when we went but blankets were provided and hot chocolate served at end was delicious.

We have ridden with them twice in the past 4 months, once in October and now in February. The location is different in the winter months vs summer/fall months. The ride was different each time due to weather, location and scenery. We preferred the fall ride, as wider trails enabled us to ride along side of each other. The work... More

While visiting Lake Placid NY no matter what season the Adirondack Equine Center is the place to be. The trail rides are fabulous, the horses are gentle no matter what the conditions, the leader is a wonderful quide as well as a master horseman. I went with my husband and we had a tremendous time and will certainly plan to... More

Thank you, Travis and Natalia, for another great riding experience. We have never been disappointed when we ride with your Center and this year is no exception. We find the video prior to the actual ride to be beneficial. Safety is so important and it doesn't hurt to be reminded of the do's and dont's just before a ride. It... More

This 'adventure' would suit someone with no previous horse riding experience, and who wants just a brief taste. The problem is that it seemed to take forever until we actually got on the trail, and then the ride seemed pretty short. I recognize that some of the time spent before the ride was for safety instruction which is necessary, but... More

My fiancé and I went for a 1.5 hour ride. We had such a great time. We went on a private ride where Travis was guiding us (they offer group rides as well but I recommend the private ride). Travis was friendly and caring. He talked to us about his rescues and you could really tell he is a very... More
