Gin beach is on the northern reaches of Montauk. It's not on the ocean. It's a small beach that features a long rock pier where many people fish from looking across to the Montauk Harbor area.

Great local beach, right by the inlet. Very, very clean. Family friendly, fisherman friendly, and solo friendly. Peaceful & relaxing just what a good beach should be. Decent bath and shower facilities, walking distance to the Inlet Restaurant, and a great local vendor trailer is on site. Beautiful views of Block Island Sound. Not to be missed!

Montauk is on the Atlantic Ocean. Very high, rough waves. But Gin Beach is a little gem hidden away on a dead end street. An inlet with NO waves. Wading is great for the little ones. we have children and the water is calming and it is not as crowded as the downtown beaches... just be careful parking you must go to the chamber to get a parking permit.. they also have camping at gin beach
