For whatever reason, the portion of the walkway that is closest to the falls (on the american side) was barricaded preventing visitors to get the closest view of the falls. There are 2 types of people. People who like to look at the falls and say the Ontario side is the best. (Which it is if you just want to look at them). Then you have the people who want to get up close and personal with the falls and for this you need to be on the US side.... More

Absolutely have to see this, it's spectacular. Rain or shine it is beautiful. If you want a closer look you can view it from the observation deck area above Maid of the Mist for a dollor or something. I recommend taking the Maid of Mist boat. Get a discovery pass and hit 5 attractions, it's worth it!

Just hearing the roar and also seeing the falls and learning history of them, it truly is a unique sight

Beautiful.... Was on my bucket list for a reason. Our family was amazed by the power of this beautiful landmark. I recommend the discovery pass.
