Spent a wonderful evening experiencing the classic tale of Daniel Boone and the American Revolution set in the North Carolina High Country. The (amateur) acting was wonderful and the setting magnificent - a lovely outdoor venue. Arrive early to visit the restored replicas of homes and businesses showing how life was like in the time period; and make sure you... More

Horn in the west is not a broadway production. It is a wonderful portrayal of the mountain men during the days of settlement through the American Revolution. It is well done and makes for an enjoyable evening. If possible, come early and experience the Hickory Ridge Living History Museum.

We have family in the area so this is a spot that gets visited alot. It is really good to take the kids for some educational entertainment. It was good with the cast coming alongside the audience as part of the show. It helped you get a more close up view of the actors and their fake gun battles were... More

I've been to this show about 5-6 times over the years and still love it. I have seen other outdoor dramas with more glitz and glamour and more professional actors but keep coming back to here. I find the production most entertaining and the large number of college students from ASU comprising the bulk of the cast are very high... More

Outdoor theater is great and this show is well worth it. New to Boone and keen to learn more about its history, this show was fantastic.

The drama was a little different that what I remembered from years ago but it was still good. It was very well put together, good fight scenes and the hanging act was so real. We enjoyed walking through the older houses prior to the show. THe seats were ok with the cusions that you can rent for .50. I would... More

We arrived in Boone late in the afternoon on July 31 and after seeing a sign in the lobby of the hotel for the play, we decided to go that night. What a pleasant surprise we were in for. We had no idea that we would have the opportunity to walk around and tour period log cabins and hear about... More

Wonderful production. I learned a part of history I was not familiar with. Sound could be done differently so the actors do not have to shout. The main character sounded aggrivated throughout the play in order to be heard.

It was not as good as I remember as a kid. I always wanted to be in the show when I was a little girl! We still enjoyed it though!
