We visited here with our grandson and daughter while staying at their house in Charlotte. Really enjoyed this small museum with great staff. The water play was loved by our grandson who is 16 months. Was quiet when we first arrived and we seemed to have the run of the place but lots more people and children arrived later. Thoroughly... More

This is Charlotte's science museum. It is smaller than the science museums you'll find in large cities like Boston, Washington and New York, but it is really nice and has some wonderful exhibits, including nice sized Rainforest that you can walk through an IMAX theater, a planetarium and a small aquarium. The recent renovations have brought lots of needed updates... More

I am not positive on the date but we took the grand-daughters to Discovery Place for the Mummy Exhibition and they and we had a wonderful time. The exhibition was very well paced and thought out and very enjoyable. The other exhibits were very well kept and changed enough from the previous visit to still be found not wanting.

We don't have anything like this in CT. Lots of hands on activities that she loved. Highly recommended.

From what I understand & have been told, it seems to be a very, inexpensive & fun, as well as, an educational place to take & enjoy your kids &/or grandkids, as well as, yourself!

IMAX Theater experience was decent, but another fee/charge. Limited on displays. Small location. Parking was easy but there was also a fee. Despite how expensive, it was crowded. Definitely eat before you come as food prices are typical for amusement/attraction places. Expected much more from Discovery Place.

Wonderful for all kids, they can run around discovering how a tornado forms, or see themselves on screen as newcasters. Maybe even pet a boa or a trick mouse. Watch out for the beautiful poison frogs from the Amazon!
